Implementation Resources
PDF Specification
PDFs are widely used by design and print companies, so should be easy to obtain if you don’t already have one for your publication.
For each publication that you wish to implement as an inbro e-brochure, we need an Adobe PDF file meeting this specification:
- A single file containing all pages in the correct order.
- Eash page of the PDF file matching a single page of the document, ie a PDF page should not be a double page spread.
- Graphics at 300dpi resolution. If you supply at higher resolution, we will render down to 300dpi (and 72dpi for emailing). If you supply at less than 300dpi then image quality is likely to be degraded and will not provide the best possible user user experience.
- Text rendered as ASCII text with embedded fonts, rather than rasterised or vectorised.
- No crop marks or other printer markups. (The pages should look just like you want your readers to see them).
- The PDF files should not be encrypted or passworded.
How to supply your PDF to us
Please upload it using your inbro account. Clients can upload PDFs by logging in here. To upload a PDF for a free trial, sign-up here.
The inbro Set Up Form
The setup form is a simple Microsoft Excel workbook. It contains extensive and detailed instructions and examples to help you. The setup form allows you to tell us exactly how you want your inbro publication to appear.
General info
Provides basic information on your publication including its title and its publication and expiry dates.

Chapters
Tells us how you’d like your publication split into Sections and Chapters.
Chapters are units that a user can select for their customised email publication. They also provide navigation for your inbroSeeInside publication on screen.

Sections are optional but help users navigate, especially in larger publications. Sections are made up of groups of chapters.
Pages
Completing the Pages section is optional.
If you provide page names, it will make it easier for your users to navigate their customised publication when using Adobe Reader or other PDF viewing application.

LiveLinks
Completing the LiveLinks section is optional.
inbroLiveLinks allow you to specify active clickable links that will appear in your SeeInside publication and in your emailed PDFs.

You define a position and size for a ‘box’ on a page (or range of pages) along with a target URL and, optionally, a tooltip label.
LiveLink boxes are defined in terms of pixels, at 72dpi resolution. A standard A4 page, therefore, measures 595 pixels wide by 842 pixels high. The setup form includes a handy pixel ruler to help you.
Once completed, send your setup form to service@inbro.net.
Activating inbro on your website
inbro is a hosted service, which means that you do not have to host any files or software on your website’s server. inbro uses standard weblinks. Links can be text, images or buttons.
For best results we recommend using images (eg the cover image of your publication) and a button.
To set up inbroSelect on your website
inbroSelect offers a popup window your visitors can use to choose content for their emailed personal brochure.
Just insert the HTML code below into your web pages wherever you want the button to go. You can put it on as many pages as you wish.
<form>
<img src="http://inbro.net/images/inbro-small-logo.gif" width="27" height="20" hspace=4>
<input name="inbro" type=button onClick="window.open( 'http://inbro.net/inbro.php?id=BROCHURE_ID&af_id=AFFILIATE_ID', ' ','scrollbars=yes, width=540, innerWidth=520,
height=440,innerHeight=480', ' ' )" value="Click Here">
</form>
Important: substitute
BROCHURE_ID with the brochure id number quoted by the test button, and substitute AFFILIATE_ID for the relevant affiliate id supplied by inbro. For example: if the brochure id is 999 and the affiliate id for your website is 888 then the third line of the code should look like this:onClick="window.open( 'http://inbro.net/inbro.php?id=999&af_id=888', '', To set up inbroSeeInside on your website
inbroSeeInside allows your website visitors to review all your publication’s contents, quickly and simply, while visiting your website.
inbro will set up a special 'homepage' just for your company's publications. It will have an address like
http://yourcompany.inbro.netYou can direct your visitors to that page with a simple standard weblink, eg:
<a href="http://yourcompany.inbro.net">Click here to read and
search our brochures online</a>You can also link directly to a particular publication, by adding
/seeinsidebrochure/INBRO_ID to the target URL. So, for example, a link to inbro id 999 would be:<a href="http://yourcompany.inbro.net/seeinsidebrochure/999">Click here to read and search our Winter 07/08 brochure</a>If you want an affiliate id recorded for any emailable brochure orders placed from within the SeeInside, just append the
AFFILIATE_ID parameter in the same way as for the popup links, eg:<a href="http://yourcompany.inbro.net?af_id=888">Click here to
read and search our brochures online</a>or perhaps:
<a href="http://yourcompany.inbro.net/seeinsidebrochure/999?af_id=888">Click here to read and search our Winter 07/08 brochure</a>
Adding these codes to your website is the work of moments for any web designer. If you need help, however, or want us to do it for you (we will need the FTP password for your site) just email us on service@inbro.net or call us on 0870 027 2487.
